The Marlins opened the series against the Mets on a rough note, falling 9-3 in the first game. Starting pitcher Edward Cabrera struggled with his control, walking seven batters and allowing two earned runs in just 2.2 innings pitched. The Marlins bullpen was also ineffective, with three Mets home runs hit in the 6th, 8th, and 9th innings respectively. Garret Cooper provided a bright spot offensively for the Marlins, hitting a two-run home run in the 8th inning. However, outside of Cooper, the Marlins struggled to get much going offensively.

In the second game, the Marlins once again struggled with their starting pitching, as Trevor Rogers only pitched 4.2 innings. The Marlins were able to get some runs on the board in the middle innings, with a Jazz Chisholm home run and a single by Arraez, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Mets, who won 5-2.

The Marlins bounced back in the final game of the series, defeating the Mets 7-2. The offense came alive early, with Bryan De La Cruz hitting a three-run home run in the first inning to put the Marlins up 3-0. Jazz Chisholm added an RBI single in the 5th inning, and Garret Cooper hit a two-run home run in the 6th inning to give the Marlins a commanding 6-1 lead. Starting pitcher Braxton Garrett had an up-and-down outing, allowing two runs and nine hits in 4.2 innings pitched. However, the bullpen was able to shut down the Mets for the rest of the game, with Scott Tan, and three other relievers pitching for 4.1 innings of scoreless relief. The Marlins offense continued to produce, with Bryan De La Cruz adding another run on a sac fly. The win improved the Marlins record to 4-6 on the year.

Overall, the Marlins struggled with their starting pitching throughout the series, with only Sandy Alcantara and Jesús Luzardo turning in quality pitching to start the year. The bullpen had some shaky moments, but they were able to rebound in the final game of the series. On offense, Garrett Cooper and Luis Arraez were the most consistent hitters, with Bryan De La Cruz and Jazz Chisholm providing some power. The Marlins will now look to build on their success in the final game as they start a series with the Phillies today in Philadelphia.
