The Miami Heat secured a commanding 128-107 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday night, snapping a three-game losing streak in a performance marked by standout contributions across the roster. Rookie Kel’el Ware was the star of the night, matching his season high with 25 points on 10-of-19 shooting, including a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. Ware added eight rebounds, two assists, and two blocks in 34 minutes, with the Heat outscoring the Spurs by 27 points while he was on the court. Duncan Robinson also delivered a strong performance, scoring 21 points and hitting five of his seven three-point attempts, while Terry Rozier added 20 points, four rebounds, and five assists. Tyler Herro, who came alive in the second half, scored 16 of his 18 points after halftime, and Nikol Jovic chipped in with 14 points off the bench.
Miami found themselves trailing by 13 points midway through the second quarter but turned the tide with a 20-2 run to close the first half, taking a 46-41 lead into the break. Consecutive three-pointers from Robinson and Rozier highlighted an 11-0 burst late in the second quarter that gave the Heat the lead for good. The momentum carried into the third quarter, where Miami exploded for 46 points and built a 24-point lead heading into the final frame. Jovic’s three-pointer midway through the third capped a dominant 25-8 run, extending the Heat’s advantage to 71-52. The lead grew to as much as 27 points in the second half as Miami cruised to one of their most lopsided victories of the season.
For the Spurs, Devin Vassell led the effort with 23 points, while rookie Victor Wembanyama added 21. Despite a strong start, San Antonio faltered as Miami’s offense found its rhythm. The Heat missed their first eight three-point attempts but then connected on 10 of their next 11, finishing the night 18-of-33 from beyond the arc. Reflecting on the game, Rozier commented, “We had details of just playing hard and just trying to block the outside noise. Hopefully, we can keep it going and build off of this.” Miami’s win also marked an end to their recent struggles at home, where they had dropped three straight after previously winning nine of 11 at Kaseya Center since mid-November. The Heat will look to maintain their momentum as they host the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night.
