Life Wallet is thrilled to congratulate University of Miami and Life Wallet’s own Andy Borregales for being named to the Groza Award Watch List. The Palm Beach County Sports Commission chose University of Miami’s place kicker as one of the premier kickers in college football. This award is named after Lou Groza of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and has been awarded since 1992. Borregales is a 5-foot-11, 170-pound sophomore who hails from Miami, Florida. As a freshman, Borregales received All-ACC Honorable Mention recognition as he went 17-of-21 on field goals and connected on all his 45 extra points. He averaged 59.8 yards per kickoff, with 37 touchbacks and 5-of-6 on field goals of over 40 yards. Borregales also tied a school record by hitting a 55-yarder.

Jose Borregales, Andy’s older brother, is the only Lou Groza Award winner in University of Miami program history, winning the distinction in 2020. We at Life Wallet say this award should come back to Miami in 2022. Good luck Andy!
