After a dominating 27-point win over New Zealand in game one of the FIBA World Cup group stage, the U.S. had another impressive performance against Greece on Monday morning. The Americans defeated Greece 109-81 in the Philippines to move to 2-0 in the group stage.

The U.S. had a well-balanced scoring attack with nine players scoring at least eight points. Austin Reaves led the team with 15 points off the bench. The U.S. had an impressive performance on both ends of the court, shooting over 57% while holding Greece to 47% from the field and 30% from three. The Americans added eight steals and seven blocks as part of a suffocating defensive effort.

The U.S. also dominated the Greeks down low, outrebounding them 40-25 and controlling the paint. Josh Hart had eleven rebounds off the bench, including five of the American’s ten offensive rebounds. It was the presence around the rim on both sides that helped the U.S. pull away after a sluggish first quarter.

The U.S. will play Jordan on Wednesday morning in the final game of group play but have set themselves up very nicely after two dominating wins. Jordan is 0-2 and lost to Greece by 21 on Saturday. The Americans should have another easy win to get to 3-0 and advance out of the group stage with plenty of confidence and momentum.
