Congratulations to Yohandy Morales, former Life Wallet athlete, on playing for the USA Baseball Team in 2022. Morales was selected to the twenty-six-man roster after attending a training camp and a five-game intrasquad series in North Carolina. Morales earned his invitation to the training camp after a fantastic sophomore season where the third baseman had 64 runs, 17 doubles, 3 triples, 18 home runs, 156 total bases, a .650 slugging percentage and .329 batting average.

A member of the USA National team, Morales travelled to Haarlem, Netherlands, where the team posted victories over Italy (9-0), Cuba (2-0), Netherlands (10-0), and losses to Japan (1-0), Curacao (3-2) and a 10-inning loss to Curacao (3-2) in the semi-finals.  The USNT claimed a bronze medal with a 5-1 win over Japan, where Morales was 3-for-3 in the victory with a double, two singles, a run scored and two RBI’s.

Morales played clutch baseball for the USNT where he finished the tournament in the Netherlands with team highs in batting average (.400), hits (8), and RBI (4), and was one of only three players in the competition to hit a home run. Life Wallet looks forward to Morales returning to University of Miami baseball and being a team leader during a stellar 2023 season.  Congratulations Yohandy Morales on representing the USA so well!
