Visitors List: Miami Hurricanes vs. Clemson Tigers

1 year agoon
The Miami Hurricanes, under the leadership of head coach Mario Cristobal, are determined to rebound after suffering two consecutive losses to Georgia Tech and North Carolina, marking a winless start to Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play in 2023. Their next conference challenge awaits as they prepare to host the Clemson Tigers (4-2, 2-2 ACC) at Hard Rock Stadium this Saturday. This matchup presents yet another prime opportunity for Miami to bring top prospects into the fold and demonstrate their commitment toward securing the future of the program.
Among the anticipated attendees, there are some notable headliners who are not in the fold for Miami yet. In the Class of 2024, five-star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV, hailing from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, has maintained his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs since February. Miami, on the other hand, has been diligently working to chip away at his commitment to Georgia throughout this year’s recruiting cycle. This effort has involved multiple visits to the Coral Gables campus, including an official visit weekend in June. Alongside Robinson, a substantial group of Miami’s Class of 2024 commitments is expected to attend, with four-star running back Kevin Riley, positioned in the heart of SEC country in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, being a notable presence.
Shifting to the Class of 2025, attention turns towards two top-25 ranked safeties: five-star DJ Pickett from Zephyrhills, Florida, and Anquon Fegans from Thompson High School in Alabama. Anquon decommitted from USC in September, a school where his older brother, Tre’Quon Fegans, is currently enrolled after transferring from Alabama during the past offseason. Notably, Tre’Quon had, at one point, been committed to the Hurricanes before signing with the Crimson Tide in the 2022 recruiting class under former Miami head coach Manny Diaz, who now serves as the defensive coordinator at Penn State.
Furthermore, enhancing the list of attendees is Class of 2025 four-star tight end Ryan Ghea, making a return visit to the Hurricanes after a prior summer visit. He is a teammate of Miami’s Class of 2025 four-star quarterback commit, Luke Nickel, hailing from Milton, Georgia.
The Clemson game this Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium is not only a pivotal moment for Miami in the 2023 season to get back on track in conference play, but it’s also an enticing opportunity to showcase the progress they have made as a program to top recruits they hope to land in the future. This is particularly important as they face a Clemson team that continues to be a favored destination among top recruits across the country, despite their recent drop in success on the field when compared to the Trevor Lawrence and Deshaun Watson era for the Tigers. As the game draws closer, the list below will be continuously updated throughout the week and leading up to the game as more prospects confirm their expected attendance on Saturday.
