UFC 307 delivered an unforgettable night of action in Salt Lake City, as Alex Pereira’s legendary career continues to flourish.
In the main event, Alex Pereira retained his UFC light heavyweight title with a brutal fourth-round knockout of Khalil Rountree Jr. Rountree started strong, landing powerful shots that earned him the early rounds on the judges’ scorecards. However, Pereira, known for his patience and devastating striking, slowly wore Rountree down. By the third round, Pereira had taken control, battering Rountree’s face with precise punches and swelling his eye nearly shut. In the fourth, Pereira unleashed a flurry of knees and uppercuts that ultimately forced Rountree to crumble, ending the fight and marking Pereira’s fifth consecutive win, cementing his dominance in the division.

In the co-main event, Julianna Peña reclaimed the UFC women’s bantamweight title with a split-decision victory over Raquel Pennington. The fight was a back-and-forth affair, with Peña using her ground game effectively in the second and third rounds to gain an edge. However, Pennington rallied late, even scoring the first knockdown of her career in the fifth round. Despite the close nature of the fight, two of the three judges awarded the decision to Peña, making her a two-time champion. After the fight, Peña called out retired former champion Amanda Nunes for a trilogy fight, but with Kayla Harrison looming as a potential challenger after her dominant win earlier in the night, the division is more competitive than ever.

Harrison, a former PFL champion, delivered a stellar performance against Ketlen Vieira, controlling the fight with her wrestling and brutal ground-and-pound. With this victory, Harrison set herself up as the next top contender for the bantamweight title.
In other action, Mario Bautista edged out a split-decision win over the legendary Jose Aldo, while Roman Dolidze earned a TKO victory over Kevin Holland after Holland was forced to retire with a rib injury. UFC 307 was a night to remember, with champions defending their crowns and future contenders making their presence known.
