The United States now holds a 17-10-12 advantage in the all-time series against Canada and maintains a 10-8-5 record in competitive matches between the two nations. After failing to defeat Canada in two qualifying matches for the previous World Cup, the USMNT had a point to prove and did so convincingly.
Gio Reyna emerged as the standout performer of the match, contributing two assists and playing a pivotal role in both American goals. His exceptional playmaking abilities were on full display, and he was named the best player on the field. Despite an early calf injury, Reyna showcased his immense talent and left a lasting impact on the game.
Folarin Balogun, in just his second appearance for the USMNT since committing to the program, proved his worth as a goal-scoring threat. He became the first American player to score 20 or more goals in a top-five European league last season and netted his first international goal for the United States in just 109 minutes of play.
