Tyler Van Dyke’s Heisman Trophy Odds Are the Best of Any ACC Player

Published

on

LifeWallet Sports athlete Tyler Van Dyke brings the best odds of any ACC player to win the Heisman Trophy this year. The Heisman Trophy is given annually to the best player in college football and Van Dyke is in the top 10 on the list of contenders for this prestigious award.  The current favorites to win the Heisman are Alabama QB Bryce Young or Ohio State QB C.J Stroud.

After a 2-4 start last season, Miami, with Van Dyke at the helm, won five of its final six games and were heavy favorites headed into the Sun Bowl against Washington State before being forced to withdraw due to a breakout of Covid 19. This season, Van Dyke brings continued optimism to the program with new head coach Mario Cristobal and his loaded coaching staff.

In Miami’s final six games last season, Van Dyke passed for 300 yards in each game with 20 touchdown passes and only three interceptions. He led the ACC with an average of nine yards per pass attempt. Van Dyke earned five ACC Rookie of the Week awards on the road to being named the ACC Rookie of the Year.

Miami has two previous Heisman Trophy winners: QB Vinny Testaverde won in 1986 and QB Gino Torretta won it in 1992.

If Van Dyke has strong games against both Texas A&M and Clemson, these will keep him in the Heisman Trophy conversation. All the team at LifeWallet Sports look forward to a great season behind team leader Tyler Van Dyke.
