University of Miami quarterback and Life Wallet Sports athlete Tyler Van Dyke has been named to two additional watch lists which include the Manning Award and the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) National Performer of the Year. Van Dyke has previously been placed on the watch lists for the Davey O’Brien Award, Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Award.
The Manning Award has been presented annually since 2004 to the best college football quarterback and is the only award to include balloting for each candidate’s postseason-bowl performance. The award is in honor of quarterback Archie Manning and his quarterback son’s Peyton and Eli Manning. Each award winner, except one, has gone on to be selected in the first round of the NFL draft.
The CFPA, awarded since 2008, recognizes candidates based solely off objective scientific rankings that increase a team’s overall effectiveness. Previous Hurricane’s to win this award include wide receiver Leonard Hankerson in 2010 and punter Pat O’Donnell in 2013.
Van Dyke, the 2021 ACC Rookie of the Year and five-time ACC Rookie of the Week would be the first Miami quarterback to win the Manning award.
Life Wallet Sports wishes Tyler all the best this season and looks forward to his success both on and off the field.
