Five Star Tight End Duce Robinson Commits to USC
After what was one of the longest, most drawn out recruitments in years, top 2023 tight end Duce Robinson has committed to Lincoln Riley and the Trojans. The 6’6-235lb dual-sport athlete was the last major domino to fall in the 2023 class after months of considering multiple schools and even exploring the possibility of entering the MLB draft. Robinson adds another elite weapon to a USC class that already has five star quarterback Malachi Nelson and five star wide receivers Zachariah Branch and Malachi Lemon. The addition of Robinson solidifies a top ten 2023 class for the Trojans and gives Lincoln Riley a unique weapon to utilize in his explosive offense.
Number Two Ranked Quarterback Jadyn Davis Chooses Michigan
The biggest news out of the 2024 class this week was the much-anticipated commitment of five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis live on ESPN. The 6’1-205lb prospect out of Charlotte, NC is ranked as the number two quarterback in the country behind only Dylan Raiola. Davis chose the Wolverines over Ohio State, Clemson, Tennessee and the hometown Tar Heels. He is the tenth member of Michigan’s recruiting class that now ranks in the top five nationally. Landing Davis was massive for Jim Harbaugh after not signing a four or five star quarterback in either of the last two classes. Jadyn Davis will become the cornerstone of this 2024 Michigan recruiting class that is shaping up to be one of the best in the nation.
Four Star Quarterback Jake Merklinger Joins Tennessee’s 2024 Class
The Vols have found their quarterback for the 2024 class as they dipped down into to Georgia to grab four-star prospect Jake Merklinger. Merklinger has great size for a pocket passer at 6’3-200lbs and is a consensus top ten quarterback in the 2024 class. The Calvary Day School product is the highest ranked player in Tennessee’s class which now sits as the sixth best class in the nation.
Florida Lands Athlete Josiah Davis
Billy Napier and the Gators are off to a hot start in the 2024 recruiting cycle and added versatile athlete Josiah Davis to their class this week. At 6’1-190lbs, Davis has the size and athleticism to be used in a variety of ways but likely projects as a safety at the next level. The Berrien High School star is the second player from the state of Georgia to join UF’s 2024 class which currently ranks ninth in the nation. The Gators are also pushing to make a big splash in the state after getting visits from top South Florida receivers Jeremiah Smith and Chance Robinson this past weekend.
Four Star Twins Deontae and Devontae Armstrong Commit to Ohio State
It was a family affair for a pair of four star offensive lineman out of Ohio this week. Twins Deontae Armstrong and Devontae Armstrong announced their decision to commit to the hometown Buckeyes over Michigan, Georgia and Penn State. At 6’6-292lbs and 6’7-288lbs, the duo adds a ton of size to an Ohio State class that now has four big time offensive line commits already. The Buckeyes 2024 Class, led by number two overall player Jeremiah Smith, now sits seventh in the country even after a decommitment from five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola.
