The Miami Heat have had a slow start to the season, but they have clawed their way back to a 29-25 record good enough for the 6th seed in the East. Despite this, one area where the team could improve is on the wing. One player who could potentially help the Heat and help push them toward a top 4 seed is Bojan Bogdanovic. Bogdanovic is currently averaging 21.4 points per game while shooting 48.9% from the field and 42% from the three-point line. These numbers demonstrate that he is a highly skilled and efficient scorer who could significantly boost the Heat’s offense.

One of the key things that makes Bogdanovic an attractive target for the Heat is his ability to shoot the three-pointer at a high percentage. This is a skill that is highly valued in today’s NBA, as teams are constantly looking for players who can stretch the floor and open up space for their teammates. Bogdanovic’s 42% three-point shooting would make him an excellent addition to the Heat’s lineup, as it would give them another player who can knock down long-range shots and open up the floor for the team’s other weapons such as Bam and Jimmy Butler. Defenses would have to think twice about committing to the Heat’s star players with a wing that can stretch the floor and consistently knock down big-time shots.

Another reason why Bogdanovic should be a priority for the Heat is his scoring ability. With 21.4 points per game, he has proven that he can put the ball in the basket and help the team generate points not just from the three-point line but from everywhere. Bogdanovic has been shooting 53% from two-point field goals with a 56% effective field goal percentage. This is especially important for the Heat, as they have struggled to score at times this season, and adding another player who can create his own shot and put points on the board would be a huge boost to the team.

Miami can offer the Detroit Pistons the 17th pick in this upcoming draft Duncan Robinson who has not been playing much for Miami to make salaries work. The deal provides the Pistons a coveted first-round pick that other suitors have been unwilling to depart with. Robinson a sharpshooter might also benefit from the change of scenery and allow the Pistons to get a player of value in return for Bogdanovic that has the ability to stretch the floor and hit the three.

With the Brooklyn Nets trade of Kyrie Irving to the Mavs and the possibility of also trading Kevin Durant, adding an 8-year veteran like Bogdanovic who is in the midst of his best season as a pro and would give the Heat a productive veteran that can work off Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo and make a legitimate push for the fourth seed and possible homecourt advantage in the playoffs. The Heat needs to move quickly, as other teams as the Lakers have also inquired about Bogdanovic. Trade talks between the Pistons and Lakers stalled when the Pistons asked LA for an unprotected first-round pick, which LA was unwilling to provide. It is why the Heat need to seal the deal as soon as possible to fend off the Lakers and other suitors who would like to add a quality sharpshooter to their team. If Miami can land Bojan Bogdanovic, they will be one of the most dangerous teams in the East and will have an opportunity to make a deep playoff run similar to last year.
