Life Wallet Sports congratulates Carson Palmquist, of Miami Hurricanes Baseball, on signing with the Colorado Rockies organization. Palmquist realized a lifelong dream when he was selected in the third round as pick number 88 by the Rockies. Palmquist grew up in Fort Myers, Florida, and in both his junior and senior years at Riverdale high school, he did not allow an earned run. In his Senior year, Palmquist struck out 106 batters in just over 60 innings.

Palmquist, a LHP, was scouted heavily by the University of Miami and signed with them to play college baseball. Before his freshman season was cancelled due to covid, Palmquist went 1-0 with a 2.31 ERA and 15 strikeouts over 11 2/3 innings. Palmquist, as a redshirt freshman in 2021, was named Miami’s closer. Palmquist made 25 appearances where he went 1-1 with a 2.22 ERA, 75 strikeouts, and 14 saves over 4423 innings. His 14 saves were third best in college baseball. Palmquist was named to the 2021 USA Baseball National Collegiate Team. In the 2022 season, Palmquist moved into the starting rotation. Over 16 starts, he went 11-5 with a 2.63 ERA and 118 strikeouts over 84 innings.

Palmquist was instrumental in helping the Hurricanes achieve a sixth in the nation ranking and a host selection for the first round of the NCAA tournament. Life Wallet Sports wishes Palmquist all the best in his MLB career.
