With his time with SOH Elite on the Under Armor Rise Circuit having wrapped up last weekend, 2024 consensus four-star forward Marcus Allen now shifts his attention over to his senior year at Norland (Fla.), as well as his recruitment.
Allen told LifeWallet Sports that of the schools that he could remember off the top of his head, Michigan State, Michigan, Miami, Missouri, Stanford, Arkansas and Florida State are the ones that are recruiting him the most.
The 6-foot-6 forward took official visits to Missouri and Miami before his junior year and recently took another one to Stanford in May.
“Just being on that campus is great,” Allen said about his official visit to Stanford. “There’s so much history. There’s so much monumental things behind that and just behind the whole campus in general. This is really big-time. They have a whole building dedicated to Martin Luther King [Jr.] and what he did for our country back in the 1950s, so that was big-time. So just going out there and just having that, that was real big to experience that.”
Allen also mentioned that he may take future official visits to Michigan, Ohio State and Arkansas.
As for Miami, the coaching staff’s message to Allen is that he would be the “hometown hero.”
“I mean I like Miami. That’s the home town. That’s where I grew up so it’s always good to have that backyard college behind my back. They just have been pitching out for me to come home, especially with me coming back to Norland.”
Allen’s familiarity with UM dates back to way before his recruitment ever started, as his mom has worked as a medicine business manager for the university for the past “16 or 17 years.”
“Ever since I was a baby I’ve been running on the University of Miami’s campus and everywhere so I’ve been around there for a long time.”
Allen has built tremendous relationships with the coaches at Missouri, most notably with head coach Dennis Gates and associate head coach Charlton “C.Y.” Young.
“They recently just got two pros in the NBA so right now they’re producing out NBA players so I think that’s big-time. That’s an eye-opener,” Allen said about Missouri.
While an exact date is not finalized, Allen mentioned that he does want to make his college commitment before the start of his senior season in November.
