- Miami is one of 16 teams in college basketball to advance to the Round of 32 in both the 2022 and 2023 NCAA Tournaments.
- Miami has a 12-11 all-time tournament record, and a 4-1 record the last two seasons.
- The Hurricanes made 23 free throws against Drake, the third most ever in the team’s NCAA Tournament history.
- Wooga Poplar scored 15 points in Miami’s win over the Bulldogs. He had a combined two points during the Hurricanes’ four-game tournament run last year.
- With Miami’s five-point win against Drake, the Hurricanes are 8-4 this season in games decided by five or fewer points.
- If Miami defeats Indiana, it would advance to its fifth Sweet 16 in program history.
- Miami is the last ACC team left in the NCAA Tournament after Pittsburgh’s loss to Xavier in the Round of 32.
Indiana:
- This is Indiana’s 24th-ever Round of 32 appearance.
- The Hoosiers are 17-5 all-time in Round of 32 games.
- If Indiana defeats Miami, it would advance to its 23rd Sweet 16 in program history.
- Indiana defeated Kent State, 71-60, in its first-round matchup.
- The last time Indiana played in the Round of 32 was in 2016. This seven-year gap between Round of 32 appearances is the program’s longest since the tournament field expanded to 32 teams in 1975.
- This is Indiana’s 41st NCAA Tournament, the sixth-most in NCAA history.
- Indiana holds a record of 68-35 in tournament play.
- Consensus All-American Trayce Jackon-Davis became the first player to record at least 20 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five blocks in an NCAA Tournament in the Hoosiers’ win over Kent State (since blocks became an official stat in 1985-1986).
- Indiana has played one other ACC team this season, outlasting North Carolina, 77-65, on Nov. 30.
- Head coach Mike Woodson is one of seven former NBA players coaching at their alma mater.
- Freshman guard Jalen Hood-Schifino was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year by both the coaches and the media. Noah Vonleh was the last Hoosier to win this award in 2014.
- Hood-Schifino became the first freshman over the last 25 years to score at least 35 points in a road game against an AP top-five team when he scored 35 points against No. 5 Purdue on Feb. 25.
