Guard Adam Njie Jr. has committed to Washington State over his other top schools: Miami, Mississippi State, Seton Hall and Arizona State. Njie is the first player to commit to Washington State’s 2024 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-2 playmaker was an integral part of a Cardinal Hayes (N.Y.) High School team that was ranked 17th in the state by the end of the 2022-23 season. Before that, he played at esteemed Hillcrest (Ariz.) Prep and averaged 10.3 points, 5.3 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game in his sophomore campaign.

“Adam is tremendously talented and will be a fine addition to the team,” Cardinal Hayes head coach Joe Lods told LifeWallet Sports. “He has become a much better facilitator and defender and I look forward to watching him continue to grow as a player.”

Njie is running with Expressions Elite on the EYBL circuit this spring and summer. He averaged nine points per game on 65.9% shooting from the field through the first eight games of his travel season.

Ranked by the On3 Sports Industry Rankings as the No. 151 player in his class and the eighth-best player in New York, Njie is one of the premier prospects in his state. He also fielded offers from high-major programs like Illinois, TCU and Georgia Tech.
