Baylor (Tenn.) School rising junior Cameron Sparks is one of the top athletes in his recruiting class. The 6-foot-3 prospect played safety, linebacker, slot receiver and running back last season and helped lead the Red Raiders to an 11-2 record and an illustrious state championship.

“I’d describe [my game as] unpredictable,” Sparks told LifeWallet Sports. “I’ll say unpredictable cause you don’t know where I’m gonna line up on either side of the ball.”

Sparks picked up an offer from Miami on May 17. The Hurricanes offered him as a linebacker, likely envisioning him in a box safety/hangover linebacker role that utilizes his athleticism and positional versatility.

One of the main schools pursuing Sparks has been in-state Tennessee. He has taken multiple unofficial visits to Tennessee throughout his high school career and recently took a trip to Knoxville in April.

“Their message is just like to stay in touch and just kind of enjoy being a kid right now because you see it a lot in recruitment, just like everything getting to that kid with so much going on,” Sparks told LifeWallet Sports about the Volunteers.

Sparks’ focus this offseason is to continue “getting my body to where I want it to be” and to enjoy the early stages of his recruitment.

“Just with the whole recruitment process, just taking it slow, cause still being young right now, [I’m] not looking to commit anywhere until I say before my senior season,” Sparks said. “Just kind of enjoying it all is what I’m doing right now.”
