2024 interior offensive line prospect Joseph Ionata has already visited Miami multiple times, and he’s looking forward to learning more about the school’s campus life on his official visit to UM from June 23-25.

“My goal is really just to see more about the campus life,” Ionata told LifeWallet Sports. “See – if I decide to go to Miami – what I’ll be doing. When I’m off of football, where I’m going to be hanging out with my friends and stuff like that.”

The Calvary Christian (Fla.) High School product has a similar goal for his June 2-4 official visit to UCF. Ionata mentioned both the Hurricanes and the Knights, among other schools that have been recruiting him the most.

“Miami is in communication with me a lot. Georgia Tech is. UCF is,” Ionata said about the programs that have been recruiting him the most. “[Offensive line coach Eric] Wolford from Alabama’s been texting me almost every day, we text a lot. I talk with [offensive line coach Stacy] Searels at Georgia a good bit and a ton of others.”

Ionata thinks highly of the Hurricanes, a reason for which is his admiration for head coach Mario Cristobal and assistant head coach/offensive line coach Alex Mirabal.

“Just such great men leading that program: [head coach Mario] Cristobal, [assistant head coach/offensive line coach Alex] Mirabal. They just do a great job with developing offensive linemen, also just developing players to be great husbands and fathers,” Ionata said.

“I love their intensity because they’re going to push you every day to be the best that you can. They’re going to coach you super hard, but that’s only because they want you to succeed. So that’s something that really, really stands out to me.”

The 6-foot-4 Ionata played left tackle last season at Calvary Christian but projects as an interior offensive lineman at the collegiate level. Ionata noted that he played “a good bit of center” in practice.
