The Miami Hurricanes baseball team is just 25 days away from playing their season opener and the pre-season accolades are still racking up for head coach Gino DiMare and his squad.

Baseball America concluded their top-25 countdown for pre-season rankings this week and the Canes are ranked eighth among all teams. (RANKINGS)

Miami is the second-highest ranked team in the ACC Conference with the Louisville Cardinals coming in ranked fifth, the ACC as a whole contains seven teams in the top-25 pre-season rankings according to Baseball America. The Hurricanes in-state rival, the University of Florida Gators are ahead five spots compared to Miami, coming in ranked third in the country.

Interesting enough to note, the Hurricanes are ranked two spots ahead of defending College World Series Champions, the Ole Miss Rebels who are ranked at the tenth spot to begin the season. The LSU Tigers top all rankings for Baseball America as the number-one ranked team to open the season.

The Hurricanes will open their season against the Penn State Nittany Lions on February 17th, at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field in Coral Gables, Florida. The game is set to start at 7:00 P.M. EST.
