Published

University of Miami and LifeWallet Sports athlete Lou Headley has been named as a semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award.  The August Sports Council announced the ten semifinalists for the award which honors the top punter in the nation.  This is the second year in a row Hedley has been named a semifinalist.

Hedley is averaging 45.2 yards on 43 punts this season and is a two-time ACC specialist of the week. Hedley is a master at pinning opposing teams inside the 20-yard line and nine of his punts have travelled over 50 yards.  His longest of the season was a boot of 61-yards against Clemson. Currently, Hedley is sixth in the country in net punting at 42.89 per attempt. The Hurricanes are 16th in the nation with opponents only gaining 53 return yards.

After a national voting body, which includes former Ray Guy Award winners, choose the top three finalists, there will be one more vote to determine the winner.  One of these votes will be determined by football fans on the Ray Guy Award website.  www.rayguyaward.com

LifeWallet Sports congratulates our athlete Lou Hedley on this well-deserved honor and we encourage all Hurricane fans to vote for Lou Hedley as the Ray Guy Award winner.
