Kylian Mbappé Officially a Galactico

Kylian Mbappé is officially a Real Madrid player. After informing Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on July 15, 2022, that he would not renew his contract, Mbappé has now joined Madrid’s roster. Real Madrid announced the signing of Mbappé after agreeing to a five-year contract that will see him earn €15 million annually. Mbappé, who arrives on a free transfer from PSG, will also receive a €150 million signing-on fee, spread over his contract duration according to a report by ESPN. At 7:30 PM Madrid time, the official Real Madrid X ( formerly known as Twitter) page announced the signing of Mbappé with an official statement:

“Real Madrid C. F. and Kylian Mbappé have reached an agreement by which he will be a player for Real Madrid for the next five seasons.“

Mbappé had been linked with Real Madrid for several seasons. Speculation in 2022 suggested that he would move to the Spanish side when his contract with PSG was due to expire. However, he elected to sign a new deal to stay in Paris. With his contract set to expire in the summer of 2024, he was free to negotiate terms with other clubs from January 2024. This led to his reaching an agreement with Real Madrid in February 2024. On June 2nd , it was announced that Mbappé had signed a contract and would join Real Madrid from July 1st , 2024, the day after the expiry of his deal with PSG.
