LifeWallet athletes and Miami Hurricanes basketball teammates, Isaiah Wong and Jordan Miller claimed ACC All-Tournament First Team and Second Team recognition, respectively.
Behind stellar performances from Wong and Miller, first-seeded Miami advanced to the ACC Tournament semifinals for the fifth time in school history. The Hurricanes, ranked No. 14/13, would defeat ninth-seeded Wake Forest, 74-72, in the quarterfinals. Unfortunately they would fall, 85-78, to the fourth-seeded and 21st-ranked Duke Blue Devils, the eventual ACC tournament champions, in a highly contested battle despite losing LifeWallet athlete Norchad Omier, to a leg injury just right after the first minute of action.
Wong would record a team-leading 19.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and a co-team-high 1.5 steals per game in addition to shooting 60 percent from the floor for Miami during the tournament.
Miller notched 17.5 points, a team-high 8.0 rebounds, a team-leading 4.0 assists and a co-team-high 1.5 steals per game in the Hurricanes’ two contests against the Demon Deacons and Blue Devils. Miller also shot 55.2 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from beyond the arc.
