Life Wallet Sports is happy to congratulate Life Wallet athlete, University of Miami safety James Williams, who has been added to the Chuck Bednarik Award Watch list. Since 1995, The Maxwell Football Club has honored the best defensive player in college football with this award, named after the Pro Football and College Football Hall of Fame member, Chuck Bednarik. Williams is one of fifteen ACC defensive players nominated for the award. Williams is a 6-foot-5, 224-pound sophomore who, in his first year playing for University of Miami, earned an All-ACC Honorable Mention. A top-20, five star recruit out of Plantation American Heritage High School, the Fort Lauderdale, Florida, native appeared in 10 games for the Hurricanes prior to being injured. In seven starts, William’s recorded thirty-one tackles and a team best two interceptions. We know Williams would be honored to be only the second Hurricane to win this prestigious award, won by Dan Morgan following his 2000 season. Good Luck James!
