Jacory Barney Commitment Preview

Four-star wide receiver Jacory Barney will be announcing his commitment on Saturday, July 1^st at 7PM. The talented pass catcher out of Palmetto High School will be deciding between Texas A&M, Nebraska, and Miami. Barney officially visited all three of his top schools during the month of June, with his most recent visit being to the University of Miami on June 23^rd. 

The 6’-165lb wideout impressed everyone in attendance at a high school 7on7 event at UM earlier this offseason. Barney has great speed and is able to create separation with ease with his quickness and route running ability. In addition to his ability to get open, Barney has great hands and can go up and make contested catches look easy. 

The top-twenty wide receiver nationally had offers from over 30 schools before narrowing it down to his final three. Miami seemed to be in the backseat for a majority of this recruitment, but really turned up the heat over the past few weeks and now appears to be the favorite. I predict the Canes will land a commitment from Barney this evening, who will join Chance Robinson as the second four-star wideout in Miami’s 2024 class.
