LifeWallet athlete Isaiah Wong of the University of Miami Basketball Team is a top 10 finalist for the highly regarded Jerry West Award. The award is an annual honor given to the top shooting guard in Division I men’s basketball in the name of the Class of 1980 Hall of Famer and 1959 NCAA Final Four Most Valuable Player Jerry West.
Wong is joined by other finalists NC State’s Terquavion Smith, Baylor’s Adam Flagler, Baylor’s Keyonte George, Houston’s Marcus Sasser, Illinois’ Terrence Shannon Jr., Kansas’ Gradey Dick, Marshall’s Taevion Kinsey, Tennessee’s Santiago Vescovi and UConn’s Jordan Hawkins.
Wong currently leads his team in points (16.0) assists (3.5) and steals (1.5) per game. He is third in rebounding (4.5) while shooting 43.9% from the floor, 36.8% beyond the arc and 82.8% from the free throw line.
Among the ACC teams Wong is top-10 in steals per game (6th), points per game (10th), top-15 in assist -to-turnover ratio (12th), assists per game (14th) and field-goal percentage (14th). Wong currently holds the record for the most points (36) scored in a game this season by any ACC player. Wong is also named to the prestigious Wooden Award Late Season Top 20 Watch list.

The rest of the selection committee is made up of top men’s college personnel including head coaches, media members and Hall of Famers.
