LifeWallet athlete and University of Miami shooting guard, Isaiah Wong, is a 2022-2023 Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention.

The Division I AP All-Americans are voted on by a collective of 58 collegiate basketball journalists across the United States of America. Selections are grouped into three teams of five different positions, and then followed by four honorable mention selections. Wong is one of just 19 players in the country who appeared on multiple ballots, during the voting process.

Wong is the first Miami Hurricane’s basketball player to receive All-America recognition since Shane Larkin, who was an AP All-America Second Team choice, during the 2012-2013 season. In addition to Wong being the first Hurricane player since Larkin to win the ACC Player of the Year award.

Wong is a finalist for two national player of the year trophies, the John R. Wooden Award and the Lute Olson Award. He is also one of five finalists for the Jerry West Award, an award that will recognize the best shooting guard in the country.

He was a major catalyst in aiding Miami to capture a share of the ACC regular season championship for the first time in a decade, the other share holder being the Virginia Cavaliers this season. Wong leads the Hurricanes in points (16.2), assists (3.4) and steals (1.4) per game, while shooting 45.3 percent from the floor, 37.8 percent from beyond the arc and 83.6 percent from the charity stripe.

Wong and the fifth-seeded Miami Hurricanes will open their March Madness run against 12th-seeded Drake University on Friday, at MVP Arena in Albany, New York. Tip-off is set for 7:25 P.M. EST. and the game will broadcast on TBS.
