University of Miami and LifeWallet Sports athlete Isaiah Wong is the shooting guard to watch this season. Wong has been named by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame to the Jerry West Award Watch List for the second year in a row.
Each year twenty of the top shooting guards in the country are picked by a national committee of top college basketball personnel for emulating Jerry West’s skillset on the basketball court. The committee watches this exceptional group looking for the top shooting guard in the country.
The Jerry West Award differs from most in that the fans get to participate in three rounds of voting starting Friday, October 28. At the end of January, the list will be narrowed to ten and then a month later to five. The five finalists will be presented to West and the Hall of Fame selection committee in March and a winner will be selected.
Wong, a fourth-year junior, is a preseason First Team All-ACC member for the second year in a row and had a strong season last year where he was named to the Third Team All-ACC. Last season Wong averaged 15.3 points per game.
LifeWallet congratulates Isaiah on this latest accolade and looks forward to watching University of Miami have another great season.
