LifeWallet Sports athlete Isaiah Wong has been added to the USBWA Oscar Robertson Midseason Watch List. The Oscar Robertson Trophy is given to United States Basketball Writers Association National Player of the Year.  The watch list consists of 50 of the best players at D I schools.

The award was named in honor of the University of Cincinnati Hall of Famer and two-time USBWA Player of the Year, Oscar Robertson. The award was started in 1959 and is the longest running award for the National Player of the Year.

Wong is a fourth-year junior guard and currently leads the University of Miami basketball team in three areas including 16.7 points, 1.6 steals and 3.8 assists per game. In six of the teams last nine games, Wong has had seven 20-point performances. In the game against Cornell on December 7, 2022, Wong scored 36 points, which remains the most points scored by any player in the conference this season. Earlier this season Wong was named USBWA National Player of the Week and is a two-time ACC Player of the Week.

After the completion of the regular season, the entire USBWA membership will vote on the award. The winner will be announced during the Final Four in Houston with the formal presentation happening at the annual USBWA Awards luncheon at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, Missouri.

LifeWallet Sports congratulates Isaiah Wong on being named to the prestigious USBWA Oscar Robertson Midseason Watch List.
