North Crowley (Texas) High School running back Cornelius Warren III recently received an offer from Miami defensive coordinator Lance Guidry, who was impressed with the class of 2025 prospect’s speed.

“[Guidry] came up to the school and … asked me how do I get my speed. And then we talked a little bit and then he just gave me an offer,” Warren told LifeWallet Sports.

This UM offer meant a lot to Warren.

“Miami, like that’s crazy to me because ever since I was a kid, I always dreamed of Miami because I used to play for a football team called the Hurricanes, so I could really see myself in a Miami jersey,” Warren said.

The 5-foot-10 back also holds offers from Utah, Houston, Texas Tech, Texas State, Grambling State, Arizona State and UTSA. Warren, who said that the Roadrunners “come by like every week,” made an unofficial visit to UTSA in April.

Warren made his high school varsity football debut this past fall after complications while transferring schools derailed his freshman campaign. He didn’t disappoint, posting 1,035 rushing yards, 349 receiving yards and 24 total touchdowns.

As both a rusher and receiver, Warren and his ability to create big plays helped lead the Panthers to a 12-1 record.

Warren, because of his speed and elusiveness, draws comparisons to recent Miami running back commits Ajay Allen and Chris Wheatley-Humphrey, as well as freshman Christopher Johnson.
