FSU Has Successful Recruiting Weekend and On Campus Event

Florida State’s recruiting class has been heating up in recent weeks and that trend continued this past weekend with three big additions and some talented visitors. Things got started on Friday when the Noles landed a commitment from five-star cornerback Charles Lester. Lester took a last-minute visit to Colorado, but FSU was able to fight off Deion Sanders for the elite CB prospect.

The commitments continued on Saturday when four-star OL Manasse Itete flipped from USC to FSU. The 6’5-290lb lineman from California committed to USC in June, but decommitted this week just days before joining the Seminoles’ class. FSU landed their third commitment of the weekend when three-star LB Timir Hickman-Collins pledged to the Noles on Sunday. This recent run of commits bumped the Noles’ 2024 class all the way up to sixth in the nation.

While three prospects committed to the Noles, many more top guys were on campus and competing in Tallahassee. The Noles had multiple five-star prospects in the building this weekend including WR Jeremiah Smith and DL Armondo Blount. The two South Florida five stars spent multiple days in Tallahassee and FSU feels like they’ve put themselves in a solid position for Jeremiah Smith if he were to back off of his commitment to Ohio State.

Multiple FSU commits were on campus all weekend with many of them competing at the FSU top prospect camp. Arguably the top performer at the camp was Noles’ WR commit Elijah Moore. The four-star pass catcher was very impressive and showed great route running and ball skills while standing at over 6’4. FSU 2025 QB commit Tramell Jones was another player that had a great showing. Jones showcased his big arm throughout the camp and showed improved accuracy.

Overall, it was a massively successful weekend for Mike Norvell and the Noles. The Seminoles added a nice amount of talent to their 2024 class and continued to chip away at a number of big-name prospects that were on campus. With a strong season, the Noles are setting the stage for a potential top 5 class in 2024.
