Florida International University defeated Bryant University 38-37 in a thrilling overtime win, giving FIU their first win in almost a year. The back-and-forth battle on the field was won during the final play of the game, when new Head Coach Mike MacIntyre made the decision to go for the two-point conversion. Coach MacIntyre knew he had both the perfect play and the confidence in his players who executed it flawlessly.
Life Wallet Sports athletes wide receiver Tyrese Chambers and tight end Rivaldo Fairweather started for the Panthers in the season opener. Chambers finished with eight receptions for eighty-six yards and two touchdowns and Fairweather had three receptions for thirty-two yards. Congratulations to FIU on an exciting win in the new era of FIU football led by Athletic Director Scott Carr and Head Coach MacIntyre.
