Everything Canes Baseball Coaches and Players Said Heading into Season Opener Against Penn State

The University of Miami’s baseball team held an official ‘Media Day’ this week, ahead of their season opening series against the Penn State Nittany Lions, which starts Friday evening. LifeWallet Sports reporters were on hand and had the first chance to take a look at the new upgrades to the weight room facility, which was remodeled and expanded upon during the fall.

The Ruiz Family Strength and Conditioning Complex encompasses 2,800 square feet while featuring 30-yards of turf, five custom Sorinex power racks, five GymAware velocity- based training devices, three Proteus motion units, three custom Sorinex Frankenhypers, three custom Keiser functional trainers, two sets of Hawkin Dynamics force plates, over 10,000 pounds of custom Sorinex dumbbells and bumper plates, custom AAE hurdles, Keiser cardio equipment and a custom Gatorade fueling station!

Quite the upgrade the Miami baseball team received, and it is a first-class weight room among all college baseball programs in the country. We had the opportunity to catch all sights and sounds of the event and everything Head Coach Gino DiMare, his assistant coaches and players said about this upcoming Canes Baseball season. The goal this year? It’s Omaha according to LifeWallet athlete and star baseball player Yohandy Morales.
