Class of 2024 linebacker Chris Cole has been on Miami’s radar since the school offered him in late February. He took an unofficial visit in April and plans on taking an official visit to UM from June 23-25.
“Miami is just super excited for me,” Cole told LifeWallet Sports. “They can’t wait to get me back, we mostly like text every single day, and they’re super excited about me.”
Cole mentioned that linebackers coach Derek Nicholson, as well as head coach Mario Cristobal, are the two Hurricanes coaches that he speaks to the most. Nicholson, who was hired by Miami in February, has made a strong impression on the 6-foot-3 defender.
“What really stands out to me is all the players that he’s developed and just like the way he coaches,” Cole said. “He focuses on details, and I feel like that he’ll be able to develop me on and off the field.”
Cole’s Miami visit is scheduled to be his last in June. He has already taken an official visit to Penn State.
“I really enjoyed it. It was a great experience. That was my first [official visit]. I had a great time. I was able to spend time with the coaches and their family,” Cole said about his Penn State visit. “And then also the main thing I got from that was just spending time with the players, getting to know their perspective on … Penn State, and I really enjoyed it.”
The Salem (Va.) High School product begins his visit to Virginia Tech this Friday and will visit Georgia on June 16. He recently checked out Georgia in late May and is excited to return to Athens for a more in-depth visit.
“They’re super excited to get me back up there. I was there like last week. I had a great time visiting them but they’re super excited to get me back up there so I could see the campus and see like the dorms and all that,” Cole said. “I’m excited just to get to know more about Georgia football and the coaches.”
Cole, who mentioned that he wants to study sports medicine in college, says that he’s thinking about committing to a school in August.
