The Miami Hurricanes are looking to bolster their tight end room in the 2024 recruiting class, and they have their eyes on some of the top talents in the country. The Canes, who have prided themselves as “TEU” for many years, are looking to take two TE’s in this class. They’re going national for their search of an elite TE this year, although two of the major targets hail from the peach state. Here is a look at the Hurricanes’ top tight end targets and what they bring to the table for Miami:

Caleb Odom
Odom is a 6-foot-5, 230-pound tight end from Carrollton, Georgia. He is ranked as the No. 6 tight end in the class of 2024 by 247Sports composite. Odom is a physical specimen with good size and speed. He primarily played wide receiver in high school but is being recruited as TE as he continues to grow. Odom is a weapon; he is the type of TE that will be a nightmare for linebackers and safeties at the next level and has the ability to be an All-Conference tight end. Miami has locked in on Odom as one of their top targets this cycle and are battling the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Colorado, PSU, and Florida for his services. This one is one to keep an eye on as Odom has been very receptive to Miami and the Canes are in a very good spot to land his services.

Tayvion Galloway (LSU Commit)
Galloway is a 6-foot-4, 220-pound tight end that hails from Ohio. He is ranked as the No. 13 tight end in the class of 2024 by 247Sports composite. Galloway is a well-rounded tight end who is a multi-sport athlete. He is an offensive TE that can line up anywhere and is a threat to score. Galloway has committed to LSU, but he is still considering other schools, including Miami.

Elija Lofton
Lofton is a 6-foot-5, 225-pound tight end from Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas. He is ranked as the No. 16 tight end in the class of 2024 by 247Sports composite. Lofton is from the same school that produced elite Canes TE Brevin Jordan. The Canes view Lofton as one of the best TEs in the country. Lofton is a physical tight end who can do it all. Lofton can block and seal the edges; he can catch and get plenty of yards after contact. In the Canes offense, being multi-faceted and having the ability to both block and provide the offensive line with help, while at the same time being a scoring threat is a premium. In his junior year Lofton had 30 receptions for 756 yards, and 11 touchdowns in 14 games. Miami is in a very good spot with Lofton and would love to add him as the second TE in this class. This is another name to keep a close eye on as the Canes have momentum in this recruitment.

Kylan Fox
Fox is the second tight end that the Canes are recruiting from the state of Georgia. He is ranked as the No. 17 athlete in the class of 2024 by 247Sports composite. Fox is a versatile tight end who plays both offense and defense at the high school level. Fox plays edge but is being looked at as a TE by most programs at the next level, including the Canes. In 2022 as a Junior, he had 25 receptions for 326 yards and two touchdowns. Fox is still a bit raw, but he has the prototypical size and athletic ability to become a Power-5 starter at the next level. He has 59 offers including programs such as Alabama, Georgia, FSU, Florida and LSU. The Canes and Fox are in a good spot but FSU is a team to watch when it comes to Fox’s recruitment.

Hogan Hansen (Michigan Commit)
Hansen is a 6-foot-4, 220-pound tight end from Bellevue, Washington that is committed to Michigan. He is ranked as the No.10 tight end in the class of 2024 by 247Sports composite and is the number three player in the state of Washington. Despite his commitment to Michigan, Mario Cristobal has not stopped recruiting Hansen and would love to add him to the class as one of two TEs. Hansen is a good athlete who can block, catch and make plays. But where Hansen specializes is in the run game, creating gaps and opening running lanes for running backs. Hansen also plays defense at the edge spot but the Canes are looking at him primarily as a TE. Hansen has offers from a number of top schools, including Michigan, Florida, Oregon, Tennessee, and PSU.

Roger Saleapaga
The Canes are also heavily recruiting Roger Saleapaga from the state of Utah. He is ranked as the No. 19 tight end in the class of 2024 by 247Sports composite. Saleapaga currently has 19 offers including the likes of Iowa, Oregon, Utah, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Baylor. Oregon has a leg up in this recruitment and Saleapaga was there for his third unofficial visit this month. Miami is still on track to receive an official visit from the Utah standout.
