This week LifeWallet Sports celebrates two of its athletes as ACC Players of the Week. University of Miami kicker Andres Borregales (for a second time) is the ACC Specialist of the week and University of Miami defensive lineman Leonard Taylor III is the Defensive Lineman of the week.
Borregales was perfect at 4 of 4 field goals including the game tying field goal at the end of the game and two additional field goals to extend the game into four OT’s. Three of the four field goals were over 37 yards. Borregales is now one of eight ACC kickers in the past two years to be perfect on four or more field goals in a single game.
Taylor dominated the Virginia offense with six tackles, one and a half sacks and four tackles for a loss. Taylor is one of just four Power Five players to carry these stats in a single game over the past two years. Taylor is in good company-only three other Hurricanes, including Jaelen Phillips, Gregory Rousseau and Marcus Robinson-have recorded these stats in the last eighteen years.
With these two ACC awards, seven Miami Hurricanes have been awarded eight ACC Player of the Week awards.
Congratulations to all of the ACC Player of the Week winners. LifeWallet Sports looks forward to Borregales and Taylor continuing their great season.
