A limited sophomore season due to transfer rules hasn’t stopped class of 2025 offensive tackle Andrew Babalola from earning numerous high-major offers this spring.
Babalola, who also plays basketball, has attended multiple camps, and coaches have been impressed by the 6-foot-7 lineman’s potential.
“That I have a lot of potential and that really just my main thing is I need to keep working, keep working on my technique,” Babalola told LifeWallet Sports about what college coaches have been telling him. “I already have a lot of tools to work with. Just keep on grinding every single day.”
Babalola has received offers from Iowa State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, Tulsa, Ole Miss, Kansas and Miami. This offer from the Hurricanes came on June 3 after Babalola took part in Ole Miss’ offensive and defensive line camp.
“I know that Miami, it’s just really historic for having great players,” Babalola said. “Great coaches come through the program and I’m really liking what I see from them so far.”
There’s still quite some time before Babalola has to commit to a school, but his family already has a pretty clear idea of what factors will be weighed when this decision comes.
“My family has kind of broken it down to three criteria: academics, culture and the fit. So with academics, it’s really just the success that players have off the field, what kind of majors that
the college offers and things like that … Culture, how well I mesh with the coaches, if I can see myself being there for four years of my life. And then just fit, how well I fit into the program.”
For now, the rising junior is focused on doing well at camps and developing his body and technique.
