The Los Angeles Clippers have selected former Miami guard Jordan Miller with the 48th overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft.
Miller spent two seasons at Miami after transferring to UM from George Mason. He boosted his draft stock with a spectacular senior season, averaging 15.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game, all of which was good for second on the team. He capped off his collegiate career with a 27-point, 7-of-7 from the field scoring performance in Miami’s Elite Eight win over Texas, sending the program to its first-ever Final Four.
“I feel like I’m a versatile player so I can adapt to whatever a team needs. I know being in the NBA is about knowing your role, and me not being limited to a specific role, I feel like whatever role they need me to do, I feel like I can do it. I can master it,” Miller told reporters in April about what he offers to NBA teams. “Also, with NBA teams, they worry about how you are going to react if things don’t go your way. I mean, the beginning of my career at George Mason where I was redshirting and then got taken out of it. And then the beginning of my career here where I was struggling, I get through hard times. I’m a very resilient person.”
Here’s a scouting report on Miller from NBA Draft Room:
“Miller is a productive upperclassman who impacts many aspects of the game. He’s a slasher and a scorer who can handle contact on his way to the cup. Has developed into a good outside shooter but still has work to do to get consistent enough for the NBA level. Rebounds and defends well and gives good effort. A winner.”
